Nepal Government proposing Naturalised citizenship holder for Prime Positions

The Nepal Government in its bid to manage the political deadlock has proposed the naturalised citizenship holder to qualify for constitutional positions like President and Prime Minister after they live in Nepal for 10 years as permanent residents.

After the news came in,  there has been a great debate about the naturalised citizenship and their rights and responsibilities. The Prachanda led government trying to led the process seems to be a fatal effort of sabotaging the country's sovereignty and rights of citizens. It looks as if the Prachanda led government is very influenced by the recent Indian President Pranab Mukharjee's visit which has put pressure on the government to speak out the agendas supporting the Indian counterpart in the name of Madehsi people.

It has been greatly misled how the naturalised citizenship has come as a tool of manipulation especially for the so-called INGO world to create better understanding of women rights issue. For a small country like Nepal which has a limitation of geography and citizens, it needs to maintain its vitality in terms of socio-cultural infiltration and about managing the overwhelming political interference from the Indian side.

There has not only been issues of political interference for leadership but there are issues of control and power balance where western developed nations have their vested interest in playing their part of politics in balancing INDIA and CHINA. Nepal has always been an open platform where the European union lashed its secular state concept and now the Indian counterpart is trying to push the naturalised citizenship to leadership position.

Constitution amendment has the provision of  national consensus where political parties and constitutional experts fear the ruling of power of the public.

Nepal's democratic practice has always been limited to the issues of control of power among few selected people in the post where their accountability is severely questioned. This is not a democracy where people's voice are heard. This is  the feudal system of corruption and manipulation where leadership manages to escape of his doing anything in the name of democracy manging and contemplating the system of its loop holes where his accountability is his question of integrity.

Alternate Strategy

I think the Prachanda led Government is trying to derail the situation as the LOKMAN controversy was in its peak and as said by Lokman if he goes down he would not let anyone escape so this can be a counter strategy from the Prachanda led government  to derail the LOKMAN process.
Lokman when he was impeached was about to open the corruption cases of Maoist warrior cantonment settlement process where there  are rumors of billion of corruption done by his political leaders. If it comes out neither Prachanda would be able to save his party nor his leaders so this can be an act of defense.
Just think who would be dumb enough to bring in such a topic at this point of time just after the Indian president's visit. It is defiantly a strategic move.....
