Nepals political leaders and their state of denial

I was invited in a program panel discussion on “Nepal’s Economic Destination – opportunities and responsibilities for youth leaders” organized by LEAD International.
The program started with a hefty speech by Mahesh Basnet, Minister of Industry, who focused more towards economic scenario and development by various sectors. He compared and gave examples of various practices happening in our neighboring countries focusing more towards what his leadership was trying to do and had achieved.

Then came the  youth leader Uday Shamsher Rana, who is also Constituent Assembly member (Nepali Congress). He highlighted the realist scenario of Nepal's politics and various leadership approaches. He also said Nepal's development is only possible by Tourism, agriculture and industrialization.  He focused more towards how leadership in Nepal is grooming under the political parties and how it should go about? His definition was more lenient towards today's practice where there is no space for real values and  vision of leadership.

Similarly then came Mr Khim Lal Devkota, Central committee member Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) who was yet another edition to the so called youth leaders approach of Nepal.

He was an epic bombarded of data and statistics proving his witness and focused more towards the sad facebook culture which only criticized the politicians. May be right or wrong he highlighted use of social media and was very specific about the youth not being interested in politics of Nepal.

The program was a learning session as there were various version of  Leadership and practices. I think leadership is not just about leading government or being part of the government. Leadership is all about giving hope and binding together the values of  nationality.

My suggestion to Mr  Mahesh Basnet is Nepal is moving towards globalization and just by making everything online won't help as soon as we go online there will be more threats as we will be more vulnerable to  cyber attacks. Mr Basnet please do your research before you speak.

An important point that Mr Rana raised was the question of leadership and how it needs recognition with media I am very sorry to say this but Leadership demands no marketing its a strategy to work together. Apart from that there are other industries in Nepal that are more potential and are running with greater efficacy. IT industry in Nepal is really booming and if you know or not a-lot of brain drain is happening due to the quality of human resources available.

I am deprived to say Mr. Devkota is a youth leader. A person who doesn't know the importance of  #social_media in today's time needs some serious coaching. He needs to keep up with technology and how it works. Apart from that his mentality and argument are more for argument of why Nepal needs a political revolution then what kind of leadership we need. He also remarked that youths of today they always pointing towards the negativity of the political leaders despite the development and work done.

I am very sorry to say but Mr CA member after waiting for 8 years for constitution and with the commitment  and responsibility, if the CA members are not bringing out the  constitution then people have every right to say you guys suck and you guys are not leaders but losers.

I strongly see there is no leadership in Nepal, the youth leaders need to step up to take a lead. They are just limited to the party politics where they act as a puppets. They say they are youth leaders and if you look at the current composition of CA then there are more than 50% of the youth leaders and still things are not running smooth.

Just by giving the hoax of rigid system and  leadership they cannot escape their part of responsibility and accountability. If you are a youth leader then step up and show some action.

Leadership doesn't come cheap it has a cost and that cost is more expensive than anything. if you want to be a leader you have to step up by action and once you prove your worth you will need no marketing.
