Rachana Gurung Sharma and Miss Nepal Controversy

During the Miss Nepal 2019 selection process Rachana Gurung Sharma who is the official choreography of the pageant has been questioned by viewers for her derogatory remarks towards a contestant.

Ashmita Maharjan, a 22-year-old computer engineering student was grilled for her looks and for not wearing make up during her audition for the pageant.

The conversation started when Rachana questioned the contestant for not wearing makeup and showing up in glasses instead of contact lenses during the audition

The Video clip went viral when people started trolling Rachana for her rude attitude and derogatory remarks.

2. Isn't it body shaming to criticize a girl for her looks and not wearing make up?

Argument:
1. Miss Nepal should represent natural and true beauty
2. A mentor or coach or choreographer should not be so dramatic
3. Instead of criticizing the girl should have been praised for wearing less make up or no make

The definition of body shaming is the practice of making critical, potentially humiliating comments about a person's body size or weight. An example of body shaming is telling a child that they are "too fat." An example of body shaming is when thin women are told they are "too skinny."
