The Melamchi drinking water project is a dream project for the Kathmandu dwellers in solving the drinking water problem but today this project is creating a new mess in the daily lives of the normal people. As the deadline of the first phase of the KUKL is approaching the whole team is focusing more towards channeling and setting up the pipeline before the deadline. If that was not enough the busy roads are occupied for days stopping daily lives of people.
How can this be justifiable that the road which were invested billions are dug in the middle with big holes and ditches. The whole approach of not managing the pipeline laying process is certainly causing the public a hard time. One can see just for laying one pipe the whole road is blocked which may seems convenient from the KUKL side but for public the whole process is taking its toll.
What can the public do?
In a country where the government is silent about public and consumer right people are bound to face problems in every stage of their lives.
It is really sad to see why cannot the public service staff coordinate to make the efficient use of resources in giving service to the public. Why is it that every time there is something construction or infrastructure happening its the public who have to face the problems....
